Privacy Policy

This is where we explain, as plainly as we can, what information Hey Good Game, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use our games and sites, what we do with it, and the choices you've got. We're a Delaware company at 1151 Walker Rd #310, Dover, DE 19904.
Quick scope note: this covers the Services we run ourselves — hey.gg and the game sites we operate and link to from it. Some of our games are licensed to other companies and live on their websites under their brand. When you play one of ours over there, their privacy policy is the one that applies, not this one.
1. What We Collect
Account info. You can play tons of our games without an account. If you want one, there are two ways in: sign up directly with an email address, or use Google sign-in (including One Tap). With email, we collect your email address, a password, and a display name (if you set one). With Google, we get what your Google account lets us share — usually your name, email, and a Google account ID. Either way, that's the whole list — no Facebook, Instagram, X, or LinkedIn logins, and no other social networks in the mix.
Gameplay info. As you play, we keep track of the good stuff — scores, streaks, completion stats, progress. With an account, that's tied to you; without one, it usually just lives in your browser.
Stuff collected automatically. When you visit, we and our providers automatically pick up technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser type, pages you saw, time spent — using cookies and similar tech (more in Section 3).
We don't collect sensitive categories of personal information, and we won't ask you for them.
2. How We Use It
We use what we collect to:
Run and improve the games and your experience.
Set up and manage your account, and save your stats across sessions.
Show and measure the ads that keep the Services free (Section 4).
Understand how people use the Services.
Talk to you about your account, updates, or — if you opted in — our newsletter.
Keep the Services safe, head off fraud and cheating, and meet our legal obligations.
For folks in the EEA/UK: where GDPR applies, we rely on performing our contract with you (running your account), your consent (ad cookies and marketing email), and our legitimate interests (keeping things secure and improving them).
3. Cookies and Similar Tech
We and our partners use cookies and similar tools for a few things:
Essential — logging you in, remembering settings, keeping things secure.
Functional — remembering your preferences and game state.
Analytics — understanding usage (we use Google Analytics / GA4).
Advertising — showing and measuring ads (Section 4).
You can manage cookies in your browser and through the consent controls below. Blocking some may make parts of the Services work less smoothly.
4. Ads and Your Choices
Free games run on ads. All advertising on our Services is handled through our ad partner, Longitude, and the demand partners in its network. They may use cookies and identifiers to show and measure ads, including personalized ones, under their own privacy policies.
Your consent. We use a consent management platform (CMP), provided through Longitude, to handle ad and cookie consent where it's required. If you're somewhere that needs opt-in consent (like the EEA or UK), you'll see a prompt, and you can review or change your choices anytime through those controls.
US state choices (including California). Depending on your state, you may have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can do that through the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control on the Services, and we honor recognized opt-out signals like Global Privacy Control (GPC) where required.
5. Who We Share It With
We only share information like this:
Service providers — companies that help us run the Services: our ad partner (Longitude), analytics and sign-in (Google), and hosting/infrastructure. They can only use it to do their job for us.
Legal and safety — when the law requires it, or to protect Hey Good Game, our players, or the public.
Business transfers — if we're part of a merger, acquisition, or sale, in which case we'll require the new owner to honor this policy or tell you if something material changes.
We don't sell your personal information for money. Some ad activity may count as a "sale" or "share" under certain US laws — Section 4 covers how to opt out.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to:
See the personal info we hold about you.
Fix or update it.
Delete it.
Take it somewhere else (portability).
Object to or limit some uses, and withdraw consent anytime (e.g., through the CMP).
Opt out of the sale/sharing of your info and of targeted ads (Section 4).
We won't treat you worse for asking. To do any of this, use your account settings or email privacy@hey.gg. We may need to confirm it's really you first, and we'll respond within whatever time the law gives us. EEA/UK folks can also complain to their local data protection authority.
7. How Long We Keep It
We hold your personal info for as long as your account is active or as long as we need it to run the Services. When you delete your account, we anonymize the personal details in your account record — like your email, password, and any name — within 30 days, so the record no longer identifies you. We keep your gameplay data (such as puzzle stats and scores) attached to that now-anonymized record, because on its own it doesn't point back to you and it helps us understand how our games are played. We may retain limited information longer where the law requires it, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
8. Kids
The Services are built for a general audience and aren't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal info from anyone under 13 — if you think a child has shared some with us, email privacy@hey.gg and we'll delete it. Some regions set a higher age of consent; where that applies, users need to meet it or have a parent's okay.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards — administrative, technical, and physical — to protect your info, and we store account passwords using one-way hashing rather than in readable form. That said, no system on the internet is completely secure, so we can't promise the impossible — which is also why a strong, unique password (and keeping it to yourself) matters.
10. Where Your Data Goes
We're based in the US, so the info we collect is processed here and wherever our providers operate. If you're using the Services from outside the US, your info will come here to be processed, and where required we use proper safeguards (like Standard Contractual Clauses) for those transfers.
11. Changes
We'll update this policy from time to time. For meaningful changes, we'll move the "Last updated" date and give notice where it makes sense — a posting on the Services, or an email if you've got an account.
